Stone City Beltiane Festival 2010

Stone City's annual Beltaine Festival in celebration of Fertility, Ecstasy, and the Rising Life Force of Spring. Don't miss it!

Stone City Beltaine Festival

Saturday May 1, 10:00 am

to Sunday May 2, 3:00 pm

Our theme this year is erotic communion between the human and Otherworlds, through connecting to the vibrant life force in Nature and intimate links with our Faery kin .There will be an afternoon workshop on this that will lay the groundwork for the rituals - the workshop isn't necessary to participate in the rituals, but we hope will help deepen your work.

Also as a new practice this year, we will be holding a ceremonial "living feast" in circle as part of the Beltaine Eve ritual, in which we will invite our Faery kin to sit at table and feast with us; you can think of this as a mirror to the tradition of the "dumb supper" often held at Samhain in which the Dead are invited to feast with the living. As Beltaine is the natural counterpart and mirror to Samhain, we were inspired to include this celebratory spectral feast as part of our festivities.

Please pre-register so we know how many ribbons to put on the May Tree.

Schedule:

The Faery Lover: Sex, Life Force, and the Power in the Land. A workshop with Morpheus Ravenna. Drawing on the erotic power of the Life Force as it moves within the land. Sex, ecstasy, fertility, and the Sacred Marriage. Faery lovers and erotic communion with the Otherworld.

Saturday 2:00 pm

Beltaine Eve Ritual: Sacred Communion with the Otherworld. Opening the gateway between the worlds to touch the living heart of the natural world. Conjuring our own vibrant, erotic life force as our gift to the Faery Queen and her realm. Meeting our Faery kin as lovers to re-connect our world with theirs through intimate communion and sharing of life force. Beltaine Feast with our Otherworldly kin will be part of the evening's ritual, followed by the traditional celebratory dancing and leaping the Bel-fire to consecrate the season of rising life.

Saturday 7:00 pm in the Henge.

Note: Please bring a potluck contribution for the Beltaine Feast. Plan to have your feast items ready prior to start of ritual at 7 pm, since the feast will occur in circle and will be part of the Beltaine even ritual.

Maypole Dance: Welcome in the coming of Summer as we weave the dance of life in celebration of the sacred union of heaven and earth, God and Goddess, human and faery lovers, and worship the living God in the form of our May Tree.

Sunday 11:00 am at the May Tree.

Several campers, trailers and boats are available as private cabins. Most have bed space for 2-4 people each. There is an additional cost for reserving one of these cabins - see below under cost info. Please email us to reserve one of these private cabins.

Hot showers, bathtub, composting toilet, and kitchen facilities are available to all in the Guest House. Please note the guest kitchen has a supply of dishes and some cooking pots and implements, but if you need anything specific you may need to bring it.

COST

$25/one night or $35/two nights, per person for adults; kids and teenagers are free and welcomed with a parent or guardian.

This registration cost covers attendance at all festival events, camping space, use of the guest house and guest kitchen, showers, hot tubs etc.

If you want to reserve one of the private campers/trailers/boats, the additional cost is $15-25 per night depending on which one you want. Note this is per cabin, NOT per person, so it's cheaper to share. Please email for details.

Registration payments can be made via PayPal for credit card or debit, to thestonecity@gmail.com; or you can mail your registration to the address below.

Please include a note with your registration to let us know when you'll be arriving and how many will be with you (including kids) so we know how many ribbons to get for the Maypole. And of course, if the payment includes reservation for a cabin.

You are also welcome to add donations on to the registration total; we are a 501c3 nonprofit organization and always need your help for improving the land.

Many thanks and we look forward to celebrating the season of lust and beauty with you!
